Evaluate Sandakan’s progress under you, LDP tells Liew
SANDAKAN: Parti Warisan Sabah permanent chairman Datuk Liew Vui Keong has been urged to evaluate the development progress of Sandakan parliamentary constituency during the latter's tenure as member of parliament (MP) between 2008 and 2013 against the performance of incumbent Sandakan MP Stephen Wong for the past five years.
Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) supreme council member cum Tanjung Papat division chairman Datuk Wong Kon Fan made the call yesterday.
Wong asked Liew to compare the two five-year terms, namely from 2008 to 2013 and from 2013 to 2018, in terms of progress, economic development and livelihood of the people in Sandakan.
“Liew ought to evaluate his and Stephen Wong's performance as Sandakan MP as to who has contributed more for the constituency, and who has failed to address the stagnant growth of Sandakan.
“Liew's stand should be unbiased now that he is a member of Warisan. Hence, it is best for him to comment on the performance of BN's MP (20082013) and DAP's MP (2013-2018) in Sandakan constituency.”
Wong said LDP remained firm in its stand to keep serving the electorate in Sandakan constituency regardless of who the MP is.
He said the party had provided full support to the BN's MP in carrying out his job when the coalition won the Sandakan parliamentary seat in 2008 to enable the elected representative to execute his duty as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department.
Even when BN lost the Sandakan parliamentary seat in 2013, LDP has never given up on the constituency, he said.
“For the past five years, LDP leaders, including deputy president Datuk Chin Su Phin, vice president Datuk Lim Ming Hoo and Central Youth chief Tsang Hieng Yee, have been working hard to serve the people in Sandakan.”
