Reject opposition if they mislead people – Rep

-

SANDAKAN: If the opposition has been misleading the people in order to win support for the coming 14th general election (GE14), the people have every right to reject them.

Sekong assemblyman Datuk Samsudin Yahya said the people must be informed of government policies and actions to overcome the negative perceptions brought about by the opposition on some members of society.

“The people must discern and be sensitive and aware of government policies as well as current issues to prevent from being misled,” he said when officiating at the Kemas Aerobic Exercises and Sports activities held at the futsal court at Taman Pohing, Sandakan yesterday.

He also urged grassroots community leaders to continue providing quality services as they are the frontline people who are the liaison between society and the government as well as the elected representatives.

Samsudin said that as a responsible community leader that is always dealing with the community, it was necessary to ensure that their services would help to make the public have positive perception towards the government.

In addition, communities, especially parents, are also advised to stop comparing the teaching and learning method in the nursery with other similar organisations whether conducted by other government agencies or the private sector.

“Each and everyone has a different approach and what distinguishes them is in terms of skills and approaches between teachers and parents, but they have the same purpose of providing the best early education for the children. Community leaders and communities need to take great responsibility, have trust, great dedication and strength in order to produce a successful nation in line with the National Transformation 2050 (TN50),” he said.

Samsudin, who is also the Batu Sapi Umno division head, advised parents to fully utilize the Amanah Dana Anak Malaysia 2050 scheme (ADAM50) introduced by the government in Budget 2018 to ensure the future of their children as generation of National Transformation 2050 (TN50).

Clearly, the scheme is another government's new approach to create a future savings fund specifically for Malaysians born between Jan 1, 2018 to 2022, as carried out by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).

ADAM50 is an Initial Savings Fund of RM200, a free incentive given to every Malaysian child born on Jan 1, 2018 to 2022 via a unit trust unit in PNB.
