Local arrested over drugs, three homemade guns, bullets
KINABATANGAN: A 28year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of trafficking in 50.94 grams of methamphetamine worth about RM5,000, three home-made guns (bakakok) and 34 bullets on Friday at about 2.20pm near here.
Kinabatangan district police chief Superintendent A Sahak Rahmat confirmed the case which is investigated under Section 39B of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug trafficking which carries the death penalty if found guilty.
According to facts of the case, another suspect, a 39year-old, had tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine on Friday before revealing the 28-year-old man of selling the drugs to him.
Acting on the information, on the same day, the narcotics police arrested the suspect at 11.15am. Although he tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, the police did not find any drugs on him.
The police then raided the home of the suspect here around 2.20pm and found blue plastic bags that were kept hidden in the ceiling of the bedroom of the house.
Inside the blue plastic bags were seven transparent packets containing clear powder, and 62 small packets of different sizes of the same content, believed to be syabu.
Further inspection in the house found three home-made guns and 34 bullets, which were hidden in the roof of the house.
Also seized at the house was RM1,030 in cash.
Sahak said that investigation was still ongoing.
