- By Neil Brian Joseph

PENAMPANG: Democratic Action Party (DAP) parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang said a ‘women tsunami’ will happen in Sabah, as two of DAP Sabah’s top female leaders, Jannie Lasimbang and Noorita Sual will be fielded in the upcoming 14th General Elections (GE14).

Jannie and Noorita will be contesting in the Kapayan state seat and Tenom parliamentary seat, respectively.

Jannie is the current DAP Sabah Women chairperson while Noorita is the chairperson for DAP Tenom.

Talk is rife that Jannie might be facing Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) Sabah deputy chairman Datuk Francis Goh.

The Kapayan seat is currently held by former DAP member Dr Edwin Bosi, who now has joined Parti Anak Negeri.

The Tenom parliamentary seat is currently held by Datuk Raime Unggi.

The 77-year-old made the announcement during a dinner reception hosted by DAP Kapayan on Saturday.

Although all PH component parties will be using the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) logo in the peninsular, PH parties in Sabah and Sarawak will still be allowed to use their own respective flags, as announced by PH Sabah on Friday.

Among those present at the event were DAP Women national chairperson Chong Eng, DAP Sabah chairman Stephen Wong, PKR Sabah chairperson Christina Liew, Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) deputy president Darrel Leiking as well as other DAP Sabah leaders.
