Kelantan BN candidates, machinery told to maintain unity, loyalty
MACHANG: The Kelantan Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery and candidates contesting in the 14th general election (GE14) have been reminded to maintain unity, loyalty and safety in pursuing victory for the coalition.
Its chairman, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, said the three elements were important “weapons” that the people could gauge when evaluating BN to be given the mandate to administer the state.
"The three elements are advice from eminent Kelantan Umno member figure Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, who has served the people for 45 years and he now sees BN as at the verge of victory in Kelantan,” he told reporters after a “Amanat Ku Li “programme yesterday.
Tengku Razaleigh, popularly known as “Ku Li”, is Gua Musang Umno division leader.
Also present at the event were Machang Umno division leader Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub and Kelantan Umno liaison secretary Datuk Hanafi Mamat.
Mustapa said the Kelantan BN machinery was now ready for GE14 and the list of its candidates almost finalised.
On an announcement by Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that its four component parties would use the symbol of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) for GE14, Tengku Razaleigh said it showed that Dr Mahathir was willing to accept Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as his boss despite having sacked the former deputy prime minister from office when he (Mahathir) was prime minister.
On Friday night, at an event in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Dr Mahathir announced that the component parties in Pakatan Harapan would use the PKR logo and symbol in GE14. - Bernama
