Allegation that PAS receives money from Umno childish – Hadi

-

SHAH ALAM: PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has described former PAS vicepresident Datuk Mahfuz Omar's allegation that the party had received money from certain Umno leaders, as childish.

Abdul Hadi said, logically, no political parties contesting in the general election would give money to their opponents.

“In the 14th General Election (GE14), PAS will contest Umno's seats, not DAP's. And Umno give us money to fight them? Only a snake oil salesman will say something like that,” he told a press conference after attending the Mega Town Hall Programme 2018 on Saturday night.

In a recent ceramah in Padang Serai, Kedah, Mahfuz, who quit PAS on Dec 31 last year and joined Parti Amanah Negara, claimed that three Terengganu PAS leaders had received a sum of money from certain Umno leaders, which were deposited into PAS account in March.

He also claimed that a sum of money was deposited into the Central PAS Development Division or Election Division's account.

Meanwhile, PAS secretarygeneral Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan challenged Mahfuz to lodge a report at the Malaysian AntiCorruption Commission (MACC) if he had a basis for making that allegation.

“If he thinks it is true and there is an element of corruption, I dare him to report to the MACC. We don't need to prove him wrong, he has to prove he's right…this is a false allegation,” he added. - Bernama
