Ambank targets 1 mln AmOnline users by year-end

KUALA LUMPUR: AmBank (M) Bhd is targeting to double its enhanced Internet banking platform, AmOnIine users to one million by year-end.

Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said since its soft launch in October 2017, the daily sign-up rate of between 400 and 500 daily had risen to 1,500 per day as of late.

“As at March this year, we already have about 500,000 users,” he told reporters after the launch of AmOnline here yesterday.

Sulaiman said the bank also expected more than half of the total number of users targeted to download the applicatio­n by year-end.

“We aims to create the best e-commerce-like experience in banking, to allow customers to invest, gain access to financing and fulfill their end-to-end financial needs entirely online.

“Our online offerings are analytics-backed to deliver an individual­ly personalis­ed and proactive experience of the right offer at the right time,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ambank Managing Director, Retail Banking Jade Lee said the AmOnline platform has recorded a 63 per cent of growth in transactio­n count since its launch last year with RM900 million worth of transactio­ns per month.

“We hope to double the transactio­n count by the end of 2018,” she said, adding that the bank’s active retail customers currently stood at three million.—
