SANDAKAN: The strong support of the people and close cooperation among the Barisan Nasional (BN) are the factors contributing to the BN’s victory at every general election in the Batu Sapi parliamentary seat.

As such, Sabah BN chairman Tan Sri Musa Aman is confident Batu Sapi would continue to be the stronghold of BN.

“I agree with Datuk Samsudin Yahya (Batu Sapi BN coordinating chairman) that there is no problem for BN to defend the seat in the 14th General Election (GE14),” he said when launching the Batu Sapi parliamentary constituency BN election machinery here yesterday.

Also present were Samsudin, Parti Bersatu Sabah treasurergeneral Datuk Linda Tsen Thau Lin, Batu Sapi MCA chief Datuk Chew Kok Woh and Karamunting Gerakan chief Datuk Peter Pang En Yin.

Parti Bersatu Sabah is allocated the Batu Sapi parliamentary seat while the two state constituencies under Batu Sapi, namely Sekong (Umno) and Karamunting (Liberal Democratic Party).

Earlier Samsudin, who is also Batu Sapi Umno Division chief, said there was no place in Batu Sapi for the opposition, especially Warisan, whose leader was a former Umno leader.

“Their struggle is not sincere in Umno and, therefore, they did not stay long in the party. Now they are in the opposition party for personal interests and want power,” he added.
