Sandakan seat belongs to all BN components — LDP

-

SANDAKAN: Even though only a candidate from Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will be vying for the Sandakan parliamentary seat, the seat belongs to all component parties of Barisan Nasional, said LDP Youth chief Tsang Hieng Yee.

“The Sandakan parliamentary seat is entrusted to LDP while state seats within Sandakan, Tanjong Papat and Elopura are entrusted to Parti Gerakan Sabah. We are very proud to be given the trust to vie for these seats, but these seats belong to all components in BN, including Umno,” he said.

Tsang said this to Umno Sandakan Youth members during the launching ceremony of Umno Youth Action Brigade or Briged Gempur Pemuda Umno Sandakan and election machinery of Umno Sandakan.

“LDP and Gerakan will not be able to help BN achieve the stability that we want in Sabah without the help of Umno. I, therefore, ask all Umno members to collaborate and work together with LDP (and Gerakan) to give all that we have to win all three seats in Sandakan and ensure that we bring stability, peace and development to Sandakan,” he said.

Tsang also said that Sabah had never been so peaceful and had never experienced such vast development under the leadership of previous Prime Ministers before Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“Ask the older generation, have we ever experienced such vast development and such peace in the past? The current leadership that we have now, including our Chief Minister, Tan Sri Musa Aman, are the ones who made us live in peace and enjoy more comfortable life.

“If BN wins all the seats in Sandakan, we will ensure to bring peace and development to Sandakan. If any of these seats fall into the hands of the opposition, Sandakan will hardly be developed. So it is now time for us to fight. We have to win all three seats in Sandakan, then the welfare of all Sandakan residents will be well taken care of,” he added.

Tsang is a possible candidate to contest the Sandakan parliamentary seat. Gerakan Youth chief Chan Tzun Hei is expected to contest the Elopura state seat.

Chan said residents must not only vote for candidates who are going to contest, but must vote for stability and peace that was brought by BN, and vote for the future generation.

“We enjoy all sorts of assistance from BN and there will be more to come. This time BN had presented a manifesto that involves all levels of community, and they are not only empty promises. We must not cast our votes based on mere dissatisfaction about a small matter. We must vote wisely. Think about the future,” he added.

The event was graced by Umno Sandakan chief Tan Sri Ampong Puyon who reminded the members to keep on fighting to make sure that the candidates chosen would win all the three seats in Sandakan.
