Youths will continue to choose BN – Silam Umno Youth

-

LAHAD DATU: The Barisan Nasional (BN) will continue to be the choice of the youths as it is the only party that gives attention to their needs and development.

Silam Umno Youth chief Abdul Halim Sidek Ghulam Hassan said BN’s seriousness in fighting for the young people had been proven through various ways.

Abdul Halim said BN’s efforts could also be seen through the recently launched manifesto that understood the needs and issues faced by the youths.

“It is admitted that BN has weaknesses, but there are so many benefits that have been brought about by BN, including developing the country and the people.

“That is why we are confident that the youths will remain with BN as we (youths) have matured and realized that only BN will fight for all walks of life,” he said.

Abdul Halim said this in his speech at the launching ceremony of the Brigade Gerak Gempur Pemuda BN Silam yesterday by caretaker Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Datu Nasrun Datu Mansur.

According to Abdul Halim, Umno Youth together with the youth of component parties in Silam will strive to ensure BN’s victory in the upcoming election.

He said various initiatives had been implemented by Umno Youth including establishing machineries at all District Voting Centres (PDM) in Silam.

“We have also provided explanation and clarification to the young people so that they will not be fooled by the opposition whose focus is not on the youths,” he said.

In the meantime, Abdul Halim said Umno Youth would work hard to support the candidate chosen by the leadership in Silam.

He said they believed that the candidates placed in Silam under BN could win the seats with the support from Umno and other BN component parties.

However, he hoped the leadership will consider the wish of the young people to have a candidate from this group to represent them.

During the ceremony, Abdul Halim denied the allegation that the youths were likely to support Parti Warisan Sabah.

He said it was just part of the opposition’s provocation to win support but in fact, the young people still choose BN.

While officiating the ceremony, Nasrun urged the youths to provide support to the candidates that will contest in the election to retain the seats in Silam.
