Water restored after three days of dry taps

-

SANDAKAN: After three days of living with no water supply, residents of Yii Villa Apartment, Sim Sim here finally had their water problem solved with the assistance of LDP Youth chief Tsang Hieng Yee and Tanjong Papat Community Development Leader (PPM), Wong Chee Kit.

The water supply problem at the apartment started when the Water Department cut off water supply to the area due to failure of many residents therein to pay for their water bills to the apartment's management committee.

As the apartment is a gated community, all units share a centralised water meter. Due to the non-payment of the water bills by some of the residents, the water supply for the whole apartment was cut off by the Water Department.

Residents who have been dutifully paying their water bills also fell victims.

The management committee of Yii Villa Apartment headed by Junaidi then requested the assistance of Tsang to solve the problem.

Tsang then contacted PPM Wong Chee Kit and after discussions, they came up with a solution to restore the water supply at the apartment and a long term plan to avoid similar problem from happening in the future.

At around 4pm on Thursday, the water supply was finally restored and the residents of Yii Villa Apartment were able to continue to carry on their normal daily activities, thanks to the efforts of the PPM of Datuk Seri Panglima Raymond Tan Shu Kiah, Wong and Tsang.

The residents of Yii Villa Apartment expressed their utmost gratitude to Datuk Seri Panglima Raymond Tan and Tsang Hieng Yee for their efficient assistance and intervention after they had suffered for three days with no water supply.
