50 ex-Warisan members join Umno

TUARAN: Fifty former Parti Warisan Sabah members joined Barisan Nasional (BN) through Umno at Kampung Nongkolud in Tuaran on Saturday.

They were led by Jumat Ahmad and welcomed by Tuaran BN chief and incumbent Sulaman assemblyman Datuk Seri Hj Hajiji Hj Noor during the latter’s visit to the Nongkolud Polling District Center (PDM).

Also present were deputy Tuaran BN head Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau who is incumbent Tuaran member of parliament, Tuaran Umno Wanita chief Jamaliah Antalip and vice-head Kassim Razali.

It was the Tuaran Umno chief’s second last visit to the 12 PDMs in his constituency. The last PDM to be visited by him would be Berungis on Sunday.

In accepting Jumat and friends, Hajiji pointed out that their entry into Umno showed that more and more people have come to realise that only BN could deliver development and progress to the country while the opposition could only talk and make sweet promises.

Hajiji who is Local Govenment and Housing Minister, meanwhile, urged voters to not just ensure the victory of BN’s candidate in Sulaman but also the Tuaran parliamentary and Tamparuli state constituencies.

“The parliament seat is equally important as it will determine who gets to form the federal government,” he said, adding that BN was also confident of wrestling back the Tamparuli state seat from the opposition.
