SANDAKAN: Ten hawkers in PPR Taman Murni received hawker kiosks under the Urban Poverty Eradication Program which is aimed at helping the poor and low-income groups to improve the quality of life and ease their burden.

Umno Libaran vice chief Datuk Haji Zakaria Haji Mohd Edris on behalf of Chief Minister cum Libaran Umno Chief Tan Sri Musa Aman, presented the kiosks during a people-withleaders event at PPR Taman Murni on Friday.

One of the recipients, Zaherianah Noor Sofyana binti Zahil, 26, expressed her gratitude after being selected as one of the recipients of hawker kiosk.

Zaherianah has been selling banana fritters and other fried traditional snacks for over a year at PPR Taman Murni.

“Thank you BN for giving me the hawker kiosk which I will use it wisely to earn my living. This new stall looks much better and tidy than my previous stall.

“It certainly motivates me to be an entrepreneur and increase my family’s income,” said the mother of two children.

Zakaria in his speech urged Barisan Nasional (BN) supporters in Libaran to continue supporting BN in the 14th General Election. “Continue to remain loyal to BN,” he said. He said that BN is capable of fighting for the needs of the people as it had brought vast development to urban and rural areas.

“The people will be able to enjoy the recent development if BN continues to govern the country as BN has a good track in fulfilling the promises made in the 13th general election.

“Therefore, it is important to continue supporting BN as more developments will be carried and fulfilled in the future,” he said.
