Equip yourself with technology skills – Fadillah

-

KUCHING: Students need to master the latest technology in the face of fierce competition that emerged in the form of Industrial Revolution 4.0 which is currently spreading throughout the world.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said this was because those who master the knowledge and technology skills would become a more competitive group and crucial asset to national development.

He said future competitions would be more intense and the younger generation, especially among the students, needed to master technology as best they could so as not to be left behind while the country would bear the consequences.

“All aspects globally are inclined towards the technology revolution, whether in education, economy, industry and so on. This is a necessity that should be taken seriously to ensure our young generation is in line with global needs,” he said.

Fadillah, who is also the incumbent for Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency, was speaking at the ‘School Attack’ programme in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Semerah Padi here yesterday. Also present was the country’s second astronaut Major Dr Faiz Khaleed.

Fadillah said through the National Transformation (TN50), he was confident the aspiration to develop the national education, especially involving technology users in the next 30 years, would be attained if the young generation equipped themselves from the beginning.
