Liberal Democra c Party (LDP) president Datuk Seri Panglima Teo Chee Kang is confident of defending the Tanjong Kapor state seat based on the strong solidarity among his party leaders and members and the steadfast support from BN component par es and voters.

KUDAT: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president Datuk Seri Panglima Teo Chee Kang is confident of defending the Tanjong Kapor state seat based on the strong solidarity among his party leaders and members and the steadfast support from Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties and voters.

Teo also announced the appointment of Poong Foo On as the acting secretary of LDP Tanjong Kapor division to replace Pak Chee Eng. At the same time, Tanjong Kapor division deputy Wanita chief Voo Fui Lee, is now the acting Wanita chief for the division following the resignation of Lo Pit Lee.

Pak and his wife, Lo, who were the former secretary and Wanita chief of LDP Tanjong Kapor division respectively, have quit the party recently to join Parti Warisan Sabah.

Teo, who is also Minister of Special Tasks and LDP Tanjong Kapor division chairman, announced this after chairing a meeting at the BN-LDP operations room here.

He said the organization and operations of the division had remained intact despite the departure of Pak and Lo. In fact, he said party leaders and members were even more united and determined to face the 14th general election (GE14).

Teo said Pak and Lo, who quit the party without submitting their official resignation letters, appeared to have failed to influence others to follow their footsteps. He also refuted Pak’s claim of leading 1,285 individuals to join Parti Warisan Sabah.

“Pak’s departure from LDP appears to have no adverse impact on Tanjong Kapor division at all at the moment,” he emphasized.

Teo urged all the leaders and members of his division to give their undivided support to ensure a BN victory for the Tanjong Kapor state seat.
