Don’t be swayed by ‘ubah’ — Musa

- By Rebecca Chong

SANDAKAN: Voters are advised not be easily swayed by the word “ubah” (change) that is spread by the Opposition parties.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman said change does not always mean a good thing.

“We know in the past there were a lot of incidents in which changes were bad for the community. Do not be swayed with the word “ubah, ubah, ubah” when you are not sure if the changes is going to be good or bad,” he told first-time voters gathering held at Pavilion Hotel Mile 7 here yesterday.

Around 200 youth attended the event which was also attended by Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Zakaria Edris and incumbent Libaran MP Datuk Juslie Ajirol.

“I have no intention of insulting any party. This is fact. We do not want disappointed people to be our leaders. We must also look ahead and move forward, and not re-use a former Prime Minister. That is moving backward, not forward,” he said.

Although Musa did not mention names, it was obvious that he was refering to Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal who was “disappointed” when he was sacked from a Federal Minister position, and former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“We want leaders who look forward, move forward, to the future. We want to take care of the welfare of the youth. Our manifesto includes a long term development plan for the youth to enjoy. That is how advanced Barisan Nasional (BN) is.

“Yes, I am aware that there are still much to be done. Roads are not built in a day, development takes time. What we had done (development brought to Sabah) is a solid proof that we kept our promises, and will continue to keep our words,” he added.
