Pang says grateful for opportunity to serve

KOTA KINABALU: Former Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Merotai assemblyman Datuk Pang Yuk Ming yesterday expressed his gratitude and appreciation to those who assisted and supported him in his political journey.

Pang was replaced by LDP Apas division youth chief Lim Ting Khai, who will be contesting for the Merotai state seat in the 14th General Election (GE14).

"One thing that is certain in politics, and in life, is that politicians come and go, and life will continue to move on.

"For those selected few such as myself, I have been extremely fortunate and deeply grateful to be given the opportunity to serve as a state representative and an assistant minister under the able leadership of our Chief Minister (Tan Sri Musa Aman)," he said.

Pang said some might question the rationale of his departure, which he deemed irrelevant as the choice of candidates laid within the hands of the party president.

"We all serve our party in the hopes of creating positive changes and bring about betterment for the people in our constituency and to our beloved homeland Sabah," he said in a statement issued yesterday.

He took the opportunity to express his deep appreciation to Musa for his trust and the opportunity to be part of his administration for over 10 years.

Pang also thanked Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun for entrusting and supporting him in his duties and responsibilities.

"I pray that my efforts have played a small part in these two leaders' great success in their relentless efforts to develop our beloved State, especially in the tourism sector.

"I have faith that they will undoubtedly be able to pilot our beloved Sabah to greater heights," he went on.

He also voiced his deep appreciation and love for the people of Merotai constituency for their belief and support.

"I humbly take the overwhelming support I received in the last election, where I won by a huge majority, as a sign of approval from them.

"Kindly allow me to express my sincere apologies if I have let anyone down or unintentionally done anyone any ills during my service to carry out my duties and responsibilities.”
