KOTA KINABALU: Sepanggar residents are confident that Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan will be able to bring more significant development projects in various areas to the parliamentary constituency.

Chairman of the Kampung Babagon Village Security and Development Committee, Toki Kasim Sudoling said Abdul Rahman had a good personality as he was friendly and always smiling to the villagers.

“I also see him as a leader with a mission to bring development to this constituency,” he told Bernama when met after the launch of the Kaamatan Festival for the Inanam Darat Polling District Centre here yesterday.

The event was officiated by Abdul Rahman and attended by BN candidate for the Inanam state seat Datuk Johnny Goh.

Meanwhile, Josieka Joulis, 25, from Kampung Kolosunan, Inanam, said Abdul Rahman had the capability to take Sepanggar, especially the Inanam area to greater heights.

The same opinion was voiced by Fatimah Munsin, 46, from Kampung Kionsom Kecil who described Abdul Rahman as a leader who is highly committed and determined to help the people in Sepanggar.

She said these were the qualities required in a leader as the villagers needed more development, especially tarred roads.

“I am confident he can deliver. At the same time, we are also hoping to see the natural attractions here be developed for tourism,” she said.

Earlier, in his speech, Abdul Rahman said the people of Sabah must be united in defending the BN government in the coming election so that Sabah’s voice will always be heard at the federal level.
