Putatan to have more future devt under BN — Mojigoh
PUTATAN: Putatan will see many more developments in the future under Barisan Nasional (BN).
According to incumbent Putatan Member of Parliament, Datuk Dr Marcus Makin Mojigoh, the allocations for several major projects in the constituency had already been approved.
Among them are flood mitigation, water and electricity supplies for Pulau Gaya, the Fire and Rescue Department and a Police Department station for Putatan.
“I have also applied for a marine office near the police station,” he said.
Mojigoh added that there were still many things they wanted to implement such as the Tanjung Aru Development Plan which aims to develop the idle prime land in the district which, once developed, will see more job offerings to the unemployed in Sabah.
He also said that he will propose for the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) to be relocated to Kimanis as the area now used as the airport, could be used for highrise buildings and provide even more jobs for youths in Sabah.
“It will benefit not just the people within the Putatan parliamentary but also throughout Sabah. We will see Putatan as a developed district,” he said.
In addition to that, Mojigoh said that he had proposed that foreign investors come in to invest in the construction of public transportation facility in the form of LRT or MRT.
He said that the facility should be made available as soon as possible to ease traffic congestion from Lok Kawi to KKIA to Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu and on towards the university facilities such as Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and other commercial areas.
