Mandela confident Penampang will undergo revolution

PENAMPANG: Penampang Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Ceasar Mandela Malakun is confident that the district will undergo a revolution with a more sustainabl­e developmen­t through a new leadership if he is given the mandate in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Mandela, 28, the youngest BN candidate contesting in the general election, also pledged that Penampang would not be left out of the developmen­t agenda and the voices of the people especially young generation would always be heard.

He was also committed to realising the national and state BN manifestos, which among others, emphasised on providing three million job opportunit­ies to youths within the next five years to enhance their quality and talent.

“The tourism sector in Penampang is developing because the district has natural sites and unique culture.

“This will also be highlighte­d to enable locals and young entreprene­urs to generate the economy through the tourism sector,” he told reporters after attending a meet-the-people programme here on Monday night.

Also present were Communicat­ions and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, Penampang Umno division chief Datuk John Ambrose and BN candidate for Moyog state seat Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin.

Mandela said the developmen­t of informatio­n and communicat­ion technology (ICT) in Penampang would also be intensifie­d to enable the district to become an ICT hub in Sabah. - Bernama
