Choose candidate who can truly safeguard your interests, voters urged

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Likas state seat, Datuk Chin Shu Ying, urged Kota Kinabalu voters, especially the Chinese, to cast their votes for candidate who could truly deliver and safeguard their interests.

He said Chinese voters would greatly benefit from having their own elected representatives in the State Government to speak for them and pursue their interests.

Chin, who is also the vice president of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), said the party had fielded candidates in the Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau and Kudat constituencies where majority or a large percentage of Chinese voters were.

“We want to serve the Chinese community and be their voice in the government.”

As a Chinese-based party, he said electing LDP candidates would prevent the Chinese community from being marginalized due to the lack of representation in the government.

He said the Chinese community have been enjoying developments in Kota Kinabalu city.

Chin believed that he could bring more developments to Likas if elected as the assemblyman for the state seat.

He urged the Chinese voters not to be swayed by the opposition and gamble away their future of not having Chinese representation in the government, given that the number of Chinese ministers in the state cabinet had been reduced from three to two in the last election.

Hence, Chin urged the Chinese voters in Likas to give him their full support to be elected as state assemblyman.

He pledged to bring more development and progress to Likas and transform the constituency into a model for successful education hub in Malaysia.

He also vowed to upgrade the facilities at residential areas and work on areas that mattered the most to the Chinese community.
