BN aid, assistance not seasonal — DPM

- Bernama

BAGAN DATUK: The channeling of aid and assistance to the people by the Barisan Nasional (BN) government is a continuous effort and not seasonal, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said this was because the BN government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was always concerned about the people’s wellbeing, especially the underprivileged.

“We (BN government) don’t give aid to the people only at certain times like during the election season, we do it all the time,” he said when attending the “Kembara Jalinan Kasih” (KJK) programme and visiting the recipients of house-repair aid under the Communications and Multimedia Ministry’s National Blue Ocean Strategy – Connecting the Unconnected programme here yetserday.

A total of five families in Kampung Sungai Ular, Kampung Sungai Burung and Kampung Pasang Api received the touch point aid under the “Kembara Jalinan Kasih” (KJK) programme organised by the Information Department.

Meanwhile, Information Department director-general Datuk Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, in his speech at the people’s feast at Kampung Pasang Api here, said the department would continue organising the KJK programme in the future to meet the demand of the local people.

“This is to ensure no one will be left out from national development,” he said.
