Give undivided support to BN — Abdul Rahman

-

KOTA KINABALU: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Panglima Abdul Rahman Dahlan yesterday urged voters to render their undivided support for Barisan Nasional (BN) to win all the parliamentary seats in the State in order for Sabah to have strong political power in Parliament.

Abdul Rahman, who is contesting for the P.171 Sepanggar parliamentary seat, said a party who won all the 25 parliamentary seats in Sabah would become a strong voice to bring the aspirations of the people to Parliament.

“Imagine if the 25 parliamentary seats are won by BN, our voice will be heard in Parliament.

“Some may ask why not give the 25 parliamentary seats to another party?

“But the only party who stands a chance of forming the government is BN.

“So support BN to make the strong voices of Sabahans heard, seen and felt in Parliament,” Abdul Rahman said during a programme with the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) here yesterday.

He also believed that the number of Sabahans in the federal cabinet would increase from the existing six ministers if BN could win more parliamentary seats.

He said the election was not the time to show one’s emotions and anger, but to ensure strong political power to claim what was due to Sabah.

“The election is too important to gamble on Sabah’s political strength based on emotion and anger.”

Abdul Rahman also took a swipe at the opposition on resorting to bad-mouthing BN in their ceramah.

“When BN campaigns, we do not talk bad about the opposition. We show our health, education and economic policies to the people. We speak based on facts.”

He also took the opposition to task for throwing allegations at the government as it was a waste of government’s time to keep on answering to false accusations.

“No country in the world is embroiled in politics 24 hours a day and for a period of five years, except Malaysia.

“The Prime Minister’s time should not be wasted on petty politicking.

“We have agendas and vision to bring the nation forward. This requires concentration, focus and a clear mind,” he stressed.
