BN at risk of losing 19 Sabah parliament seats, claims Chan

-

KOTA KINABALU: The Barisan Nasional (BN) president appears to be relying heavily on Sabah to make him ‘king’ again, said DAP Sabah candidate for the Kota Kinabalu parliamentary seat, Chan Foong Hin.

Chan reckoned that Datuk Najib Razak is apparently in ‘panic mode’, given his unusually frequent general election (GE) visits here, non-implementation of the new 13 seats by the BN government and the postponement of the BN Sabah Manifesto launch, which are prime indicators of the coalition’s fears.

In addition, he claimed BN is at risk of losing 19 parliamentary seats, with the likely ones being Batu Sapi, Sandakan, Semporna, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, and Keningau.

He added that also at high risk for BN are Silam, Kota Marudu, Sepanggar, Tawau, Kalabakan and Beaufort.

Further, Chan said the Tuaran, Pensiangan, Putatan, Kota Belud, Ranau, Tenom and Kudat areas could very well be moving towards becoming risk areas for the BN.

“I believe he is in a ‘panic mode’ now,” Chan said at a press conference at the DAP headquarters here yesterday.

“Something big is coming, so I urge the people to keep calm, relax and vote for the force of change (Parti Warisan Sabah, DAP and PKR electoral pact).

“Stay calm and relaxed. No need to be so nervous should anything big happen. No need to even store food or whatever. If the people are united, we can ensure that the win would be a big win. I am very optimistic towards this direction,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chan announced that the Ceramah Grand Finale jointly organized by DAP, Warisan and PKR will be held at the Lido Basketball Court at 7pm tonight.

He advised visitors to come early as they expect another big wave of people coming to the place.

“Last election our friends in Semenanjung asked why Sabah and Sarawak did not want to change,” he said.

“This round, I am highly confident that Sabahans will lead in the change,” he added.
