Shafie claims he can do a better job for Sabah

-

TAWAU: Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said he could do better for Sabah if his party was voted into power.

“I will ensure the 61 statutory bodies such as Sinora, KoNelayan, Rubber Fund Board and Safoda are managed properly,” he said during a ceramah at Mile 1, Apas Road on Sunday night.

Shafie said he would place experts so that productivity and revenue would increase.

“I don’t want to become rich but I want to enrich the people of Sabah.

“The government should make the people’s life comfortable with ample jobs, and not the other way around,” he asserted.

Shafie said he would also ensure cooking oil is made in Sabah and with Sabah brands, and would ensure all hypermarkets and supermarkets sell them.

To do this, he said he would issue factory licences to produce cooking oil so that Sabah people could get jobs.

“We must be smart running the state, running the country for the people, not for ourselves,” he said.

Shafie said that if Sabahans had jobs, they would not go out to find jobs, such as a couple he met from Kuala Penyu who had come back from Australia and who had worked as apple pickers because there were no jobs in Sabah.

He said the people must be wise to choose their new government, one that could change the lives of the people for the better and could provide for them.

Also present were PKR candidate for Tawau parliamentary seat, Christina Liew, DAP candidate for Sri Tanjong, Jimmy Wong, Warisan candidates for Apas and Balung, Abdula Salip Enjal and Andi Rus Diana Andi Paladjareng, respectively.
