Chinese community urged to use wisdom when voting

-

TAWAU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Youth Exco and Tanjung Batu Youth chief, Jhasarry Kang, has urged fellow voters, especially the Chinese community to use their wisdom to vote wisely in the 14th general election (GE14) .

He said the trend in the last election saw substantial reduction in Chinese support for the government, which may not be good in the long term as it may affect developments and policies relating to the Chinese community

On another note, he observed that the relationship between Malaysia and China is currently at its best. He reckons the Belt and Road Initiative advocated by China is set to greatly benefit Malaysia in terms of infrastructure development, economic growth and creation of business opportunities.

“We should also be proud that Chinese tourists have chosen Sabah as their tourism destination. They are here to boost the local incomes in various areas like restaurants, hotels, shopping malls, spa and wellness centres, local taxis, local businesses and local tourism products,” he said.

He added the Chinese tourists, besides loving our islands and hot weather, also take into account the political stability in Sabah as the people here are not only friendly but are peaceful and harmonious among the various cultures and different races.

“Therefore, we are blessed that political stability has attracted them to choose Sabah as their destination and hopefully many more Chinese investors will come over for future investments and opportunities. I therefore urge our Chinese community to think deeply and use their wisdom. They should refrain from acting emotionally in choosing the right person to represent them,” Jhasarry said yesterday.
