Food Aid Foundation receives RM30,000 donation

PETALING JAYA: Harvey Norman Malaysia is giving back to the community with a donation worth RM30,000 to the Food Aid Foundation. This donation will continue to support Food Aid Foundation in their initiative­s to support and help those in need in the community.

The donation was presented by Harvey Norman Malaysia Lead General Manager, Eddy Ng to Food Aid Foundation Founder, Chee Yew Guan at Harvey Norman’s headquarte­rs office in Kelana Jaya.

“Giving back and helping the communitie­s is one of our core values in how we operate our business. We look at ways to improve the quality of lives of the people around us and contribute indirectly to helping people to progress. At the same time, we ensure our employees are well taken care of as this will also aid in the developmen­t of local communitie­s,” said Eddy.

On receiving the donation, Chee said, “We are grateful to Harvey Norman Malaysia for their continuous support in our efforts to provide care to the needy people. This contributi­on will help us to reach out to more needy people.”

Corporate social responsibi­lity has always been an integral part of the Harvey Norman’s DNA whereby the company has also donated mattresses to the needy homes in Central region during the last Internatio­nal Bedding Fair. With the recent expansion plan, Harvey Norman is now opened in Kuching and will be expanding to Johor Bahru soon. With this, Harvey Norman will be looking at more focused CSR initiative­s in new regions as well.
