List of Sabah politicians facing travel ban fake
KOTA KINABALU: Viral photos and reports of former chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman being barred from travelling overseas are not true, The Star reported.
The others said to have been blacklisted and banned from leaving the country are former deputy chief minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan and former Communications and Multimedia minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak.
However, a check with the Immigration Department website found this to be untrue.
Their status turned out to be “tiada halangan” (no restriction) when checked.
Ever since Pakatan Harapan took over the government after GE14, several names have been blacklisted and barred from leaving the country pending investigations into alleged corrupt practices among others.
They include former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, former 1Malaysia Development Bhd chief executive officer Tan Sri Ismee Ismail, former 1MDB board member Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi and current 1MDB chief executive officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy.
Attorney-general Tan Sri Mohamad Apandi Ali, former inspector-general of police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, former treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah, former MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmand and former SRC International Sdn Bhd managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil are also on the travel blacklist.
