Various development projects planned for Tungku
LAHAD DATU: Various developments have been planned for the benefit and well-being of the people here.
Tungku assemblyman Assafal P Alian said various efforts would also be undertaken to address problems in that area.
Assafal said developments of that area would be implemented through several phases that would cover the people’s wellbeing, education, security and others.
For a start, Tungku should be upgraded to a full district in which it would enable Tungku to have full administration with the involvement of all government agencies, he said.
He said the upgrading of Tungku sub-district into a district would have a huge impact to the development of the area and its people.
“I have also plans that can provide an impact to the development of this district, such as the construction of a coastal road from Kampung Dengan to Tambisan.
“This road, which will connect villages, will have many benefits, including bringing basic infrastructure to the people here,” he said.
According to Assafal, the coastal road could also serve as a second layer of security control which could facilitate security forces to patrol, thus increasing security control there.
Efforts to strengthen security would be good as it could increase people and investors’ confidence to invest there, he said, adding that this was also among the efforts that could be implemented to provide opportunities for villagers to generate income and improve their lives.
“I will also pay attention to the problems that exist here such as SMK Binuang, the district mosque and the road that is often damaged and burdening the people.
“I will meet the relevant and responsible parties regarding these matters and find the best solutions as the school and mosque are among the needs of the people here,” he said.
Assafal added various other issues such as education and safety would also be reviewed for the well-being of the people in the area.
He said that all the efforts were in line with Parti Warisan Sabah’s manifesto in prospering the people and developing all areas.
