DAP to lodge MACC report against politician
KOTA KINABALU: DAP Sabah will be lodging a report with the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) here against a senior politician over alleged corrupt practices.
According to its publicity secretary Ginger Phoong, the report will be lodged by him and Likas assemblyman Tan Lee Fatt yesterday.
Ginger, who is also Luyang assemblyman, said this followed a police report lodged by Tan at the district police headquarters in Karamunsing at 2pm yesterday.
"I received a compilation of 81 allegations against a senior Sabahan politician.
"The allegations have gone viral on social media and phone messaging.
"The allegations said that the politician had been involved in corrupt practices and there were even claims of criminal elements in the person's action," Ginger told reporters yesterday.
Both he and Tan want the relevant authorities like MACC, the police and even Bank Negara to investigate the alleged wrongdoings if any and to take the necessary action.
"We are doing this based on our sense of responsibility as Sabahans. We would like to stress that we are not accusing anyone of any wrongdoing however because of the information we received, we want the relevant authorities to find out if there is any truth in the allegations," Ginger stressed.
Meanwhile, Tan said earlier that he also lodged a police report against Tan Sri Musa Aman urging that the latter be investigated under Section 6 of the Penal Code for filing a writ against Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.
