Perodua donates toys, equipment to Likas Hospital

-

KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan and the Kaamatan season, Perodua's volunteer team recently paid a visit to the Sabah Women and Children Hospital to donate medical equipment and toys.

The contribution consisted of two sets of Miller 3 straight laryngoscope blades with handle, worth RM1,800 each, and 40 pillows with PVC covers.

Perodua, together with Lego Malaysia, also presented Lego playsets and goodies to 250 children.

“We wish to acknowledge and thank the selfless staff of the Sabah Women and Children Hospital for their services to the people,” said Perodua president and chief executive officer, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh in a statement yesterday.

Meanwhile, Perodua's Kedah and Penang branch sent a team of 10 volunteers to Shan Children's Home in Perai, where they arranged a breadmaking class for the home's 19 children. The volunteers also helped with some spring cleaning and handed out soft toys to the children.

The carmaker contributed over RM20,000 worth of goods and cash last year and announced its commitment to a three-year corporate social responsibility programme with the home.

“There are so many ways to help these children. We welcome material and monetary help, but both are finite. By engaging the children in educational activities, we hope to equip them with skills and knowledge that will benefit them throughout their lifetime,” said Aminar. - Bernama
