ABC, cakes selling well at Sabindo Ramadan bazaar
TAWAU: There is nothing like a good freshly made ABC (Ais Batu Campur) mixture of your choice to quench the thirst after a whole day of fasting.
At Siti Rugaya’s ABC stall, the most sought after ABC is the ‘Milo-Cincau tambur’, which is the top seller at her stall at Sabindo Ramadan bazaar.
As early as 3pm customers are already snapping up her prepared ABCs of various mixtures already packed for sale.
Customers have the choice to choose ‘cendol’, ‘sagu’, ‘agaragar’, ‘cincau’ and red beans to go with their ABCs which are cool and refreshing.
Siti said her sales were encouraging and she had started selling at the bazaar since 2012 even though she had a restaurant near Century Supermarket in Sabindo.
She also said her customers could also buy ‘nasi lalap’ and ‘nasi kuning’ at her stall for their breaking of fast.
Considered one of the best ABCs in town, her stall is also frequented by non-Muslims who also take advantage of the many choices offered during the Ramadan month.
Another happy seller at the Sabindo Ramadan bazaar is DM Cookies & Cakes owner Kamisah Toyo who is selling more than 15 types of cakes mostly from cheese and chocolates.
With more than three years of experience in cake making, she said her number one item were her cheese cakes, apart from chocolate moist, brownies and cheese tarts.
“Mostly, my cakes are cheesebased and the response is good,” she said.
All her products are nicely and properly packed - which look professional - and according to her, she sells online to her customers.
To her surprise, she said her online customers who were teenagers even came to her stall and they brought along their parents to choose from the many choices she had to offer.
