PCS urges all members to support Warisan-led govt

KOTA KINABALU: The ongoing legal uncertainty looming over Sabah as to who is the legal chief minister has caused anxiety among the people and the real work that needs to be done has been hampered and delayed.

Political stability is now urgently needed in Sabah as the people deserve immediate service from the government, said Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) president Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred M Bumburing.

He pointed out that a lot of things need to be done and the people are expecting the implementation of reforms as promised during the elections and added that this uncertainty follows the nondefinitive mandate from the electorate during the 14th general election.

Both the BN-led group and the Warisan team only managed to get simple majority from defection of a few elected representatives, he said.

Bumburing opined that the legal suit brought by Tan Sri Musa Aman will put to rest the legal issues and opinions that have been afloat all this while.

Whatever the decision of the court, taking into account all parameters surrounding the present Sabah political scenario, the Warisan team will eventually be ruling the state, he opined.

“We have received numerous inquiries from PCS members as to our stand in this political stand-off. I therefore need to explain to our members. We had participated in the recent elections on our platform which is to have a Kadazandusun and Anak Negeri block participation in the new government.

“We have been consistent in our stand in fighting for and supporting the regime change struggle through the 14th general elections. We maintain our stand to support the Pakatan Harapan Federal Government,” stressed Bumburing.

According to him, the demise of Umno/BN is the greatest political landmark in Malaysia which has caught worldwide attention. It proves that the people of Malaysia are capable of disposing of a corrupt government.

Indeed the change of government after more that half a century under Umno is a once in a lifetime political emancipation of the people who are now in great anticipation for a new order in the country, he pointed out.

“The reform initiative now being undertaken at the federal level must be translated at the state level. The promise of reform at all levels of government arms and instruments must be implemented.

“The state government must quickly sit down and do the necessary. PCS therefore urges all members to support the Warisanled state government. We are ever ready to give our opinion when needed but at the same time ready to give constructive comments when deemed necessary. A reformed administration, in line with the practice in matured democracy, must be ready to accept opinions from the people,” Bumburing said.
