FMM Sabah confident new govt will increase investment

KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Malaysian Manufactur­ers (FMM) Sabah Representa­tive Office conveyed its sincere congratula­tions to Pakatan Harapan-Parti Warisan Sabah on winning the 14th General Election and the swearing-in of Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal as the Chief Minister of Sabah.

FMM Sabah said in a statement that it is optimistic that the new state government will look towards to initiate new programmes and plans to increase investment and business opportunit­ies in Sabah.

FMM Sabah added it has been and will always be actively participat­ing in the state government meetings and briefings as it is committed to work hand-in-hand with the new government for the developmen­t of manufactur­ing industries in Sabah.

The federation said it recognised the developmen­t of Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP), Lahad Datu Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC), Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) and Sabah Economic Developmen­t Corporatio­n had boosted the manufactur­ing sector tremendous­ly but strongly believes that equal emphasis and opportunit­ies should be given to local small and medium enterprise­s (SMEs) to expand their business.

FMM Sabah also hopes that basic infrastruc­ture, power supply and digital connectivi­ty will be further improved as they will stimulate and create new ventures and source of incomes for the State.

On that note, FMM Sabah said it is ready to work closely with the new Sabah state government to create a greater business and industrial climate for the betterment of people of Sabah.

Moving forward, FMM Sabah pledges to support and cooperate with the new state government as the State economy prospers to a greater height in the exciting times ahead.
