Sports Toto brings festive cheers to underprivi­leged children

LAHAD DATU: A team from Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd yesterday visited the underprivi­leged children at the Sabah Society for the Deaf Lahad Datu to share the joy of the Harvest and Gawai festivals with them.

Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd Tawau area sales officer, Andrew Lee Ching Leong, said that giving back to the society had always been a core value practised by Sports Toto Malaysia as part of their corporate social responsibi­lity (CSR).

He said as a socially responsibl­e company, Sports Toto Malaysia believes that creating benefits for society is an integral part of the organizati­on’s business and operation.

“In conjunctio­n with the upcoming Harvest and Gawai festivals, Sports Toto Malaysia took the opportunit­y to share festive cheers and happiness with some underprivi­leged children in East Malaysia.

“Today, we celebrated and treated 15 children of the Sabah Society for the Deaf Lahad Datu to a sumptuous meal together with some goodies bag from Sports Toto,” he said, adding that Sports Toto also donated RM3,000 to the centre.

Andrew said further that the Sports Toto teams will continue to spread festive cheers to beneficiar­ies at Sabah Society For Jireh Home in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Society for the Deaf in Sandakan, the Salvation Army Children’s House in Kuching, the Methodist Children’s Home in Sibu and the Bintulu Methodist Children’s Home in Miri.

“Sports Toto Malaysia will also donate a total of RM18,000 to the six charitable organizati­ons.

“All these years, Sports Toto Malaysia has made it a point to bring cheer to the less fortunate as the company believes that everyone regardless of their social status or background deserves a heartwarmi­ng moment during festivitie­s,” he added.
