Labuan MP Rozman to join Warisan?

-

LABUAN: Warisan Sabah can work with Labuan Member of Parliament Datuk Rozman Isli if the Labuan Umno Division head joins Warisan, but he must concentrate and work at the parliamentary level and maybe on a particular task in Kuala Lumpur.

Labuan Warisan information chief Julius Theobald Elias said Rozman had to compromise with Warisan, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and DAP here to implement the agenda of change in the island of Labuan as offered to the people through the GE14 manifesto.

“The monopoly and racism practised in the Umno government should be abolished altogether, the followers of Rozman (Isli) should accept the fact that Umno is no longer in power, Umno has become an opposition, power monopoly, position, contract and economic opportunity in Umno is no more relevant and it's all over, do not ever bring Umno's practice into Warisan,” Julius asserted.

Rozman and former Umno members who want to join Warisan, PKR or DAP should understand and need to adopt a paradigm shift to equally fight for the agenda of change in Labuan and not merely to join the ruling party for the sake of retaining the positions and opportunities that they have earned in Umno.

“Let Rozman focus on his job in Kuala Lumpur, while major tasks in Labuan should be distributed to Warisan, PKR and DAP activists,” said Julius, adding that it is the best way of power sharing for Labuan in this new administration.

Julius stated this as a summary of several series of Warisan discussions here concerning the rumours of Rozman joining Warisan.

Rozman is said to be in the final stage to join Warisan but before making a decision and official announcement, he said he would first go to umrah.

Julius added that Rozman's entry into Warisan was a bit of a concern for Warisan, PKR and DAP here for fear of Rozman's participation and former members of Umno would only spoil the change agenda against Umno's monopoly and racist practices over the years.
