Chamber hopeful new state govt can provide good business environment
KOTA KINABALU: Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) is hopeful Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and his ministers are able to provide a conducive environment for business.
KCCI president Datuk Bonipasius Bianis said he saw the government as something that could provide a conducive environment for doing business.
He said the objective of the association remained intact, which is to reinforce the engagement of the Kadazandusun community in the economic sector.
“What is important now is to expose (the community) to the available opportunities and government aid,” he said during a press conference for this year’s Dayak Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) - KCCI Gawai- Kaamatan celebration, which was held at the KCCI office in Donggongon, Penampang yesterday.
“We will try to get everything in terms of grant aid, business contracts because we as an NGO believe that without this exposure, the society will not know that there are so many opportunities in business and entrepreneurship.
“We should not just rely on the government to give us business opportunities. For the Kadazandusun community, this is a great opportunity for them,” he said.
With regard to the celebration, it will be hosted by DCCI and will be held at Eastwood Golf Resort in Miri, Sarawak on July 7.
DCCI and KCCI are taking turns to host this event, where DCCI will be the host for its 12th year celebration, this year.
