Centre Point to organize Kids Funtivity Week

KOTA KINABALU: Children's Day may be a few months to go, but nothing is impossible when Centre Point Sabah has made it possible for six selected days in June.

Kids Funtivity Week is the new exciting event for children to participat­e at Palm Square, Centre Point Sabah. This event will benefit both children and parents. The children are able to take part while enjoying the fun during the event.

Meanwhile, the parents will be able to create memorable moments together.

On June 17, there will be a Let's Dance Kiddos Competitio­n which is open to children from 12 years old and below. The participat­ion can be individual or group up to 10 persons maximum. This is the competitio­n for kids who want to showcase their talent in terms of body movement arts.

The next day will be the Junior U12 Chess Tournament (June 18) which is open to children from six to 12 years old. The tournament is to be conducted according to the chess format in Swiss form that comes with seven rounds.

The following weekend is to be filled with the Children's Handwritin­g Competitio­n (June 22) that has two categories, aged four to eight years old category and nine to 12 years old category.

The Parent Baby Triathlon Competitio­n (June 23) is the only competitio­n for infants from four to 14 months at the time of entry. The competitio­n includes fastest diaper bag packing, baby crawling competitio­n and diaper changing competitio­n. For baby diaper bag packing and diaper changing competitio­n, only the fathers are eligible to participat­e to show their fatherhood ability towards taking care of baby.

Little Storytelle­r Competitio­n will be held on June 24 in both Chinese and English languages. This event is open to children under 12 years old with strong interest towards storytelli­ng and a good way for the kids to perform their speech in front of the public.

On the last day of the Kids Funtivity Week (June 30) will be the Kids Fashion Show and Glory Cup Kids Carnival Contest. The Kids Fashion Show will be divided into three categories, which are category A (three to four years old), category B (five to six years old) and category C (seven to nine years old). Children with interest towards this fashion show should prepare themselves in fairy tales themed costumes.

As for the Glory Cup Kids Carnival Contest, there are two contests which include drawing and colouring contest (four to 12 years old) and Comic Contest (seven to 12 years old). During the contest, there will be side activities such as free handicraft and face painting.

Throughout the Kids Funtivity Weeks, there will also be some fun-filled side activities which are the Pirate Fun Playground, Ez Pz Origami, Smurf Appearance and more excitement to anticipate. Children are warmly welcomed to participat­e in any of the events.
