-

Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) is leading by far the largest delegation from Malaysia to attend the Ninth Weihai International Food Expo to be held in Weihai City, Shandong, China from June 20 - 25.

FSI stated that with nine companies exhibiting and a total of over 30 personnel, this visit to Weihai City, dubbed ‘China’s Garden City, marks the third time the FSI has organised a trade mission.

Considered as China’s largest Marine Aquaculture and Fishery base, WeiHai is similar to Sabah with its abundance of natural resources, as well as being a successful trading hub with Korea and Japan.

FSI has in the past worked closely together with WeiHai’s Trade Development Agency in bringing industries from the two areas together, both aim to provide opportunities for respective local companies to interact, export & trade.

This exhibition delegation for the Ninth Weihai International food expo, led by FSI will offer tremendous opportunities with 400 over companies occupying 700 booths from 18 countries, namely Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Russia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, among others.

In recognition of the persistent effort to link up trade between Sabah and Weihai, Weihai Trade Development Agency has specially presented the "best organization award" to FSI during the launching of the expo.

It is hoped that FSI will continue to lead the effort to connect businesses from both areas, for the betterment of mutual economy.
