Noorahman bags two titles

KOTA KINABALU: Noorahman Arif shone at the recent Sabah Junior Tennis Tournament Leg II - Tawau.

Competing at his home tournament, the young talent was one of three players who bagged two titles along with Keagan Keith Jonathan and Jasnita Jamal.

However, Noorahman made heads turned with his vast potential where he won the Boy’s Under-10 Singles title after beating Chow Kai Yong 8-5.

The Tawau lad then partnered Kota Kinabalu junior Ruz Zareef Hazmy for his second title, where they won all their group matches in the boy’s doubles.

Keagan, also of Tawau, won the Boy’s U-12 singles as well as doubles with Amiruz Aziem while Jasnita of Lahad Datu took the Girl’s U-16 Singles and Doubles title with partner Nurul Afiqah Bartisyia.

The other Singles winners in the developmen­t-oriented tournament were Eliora Hii of Kota Kinabalu (Girl’s U-12) and Sandakan quartet Rishigeswa­ran a/l Uigneswara­n (Boy’s U-14), Jashnaviss­ri a/p Uigneswara­n (Girl’s U-14), Harish John Sunil (Boy’s U16) and Hiew Kee Jun (Boy’s U-18).

In the Doubles event, the other winners were Tham Jane Han/Grace Chan (Girl’s U-12), Jasdez Singh/Fadly Pratama (Boy’s U-14) and Edric Tan/ Darius Wong (Boy’s U-18).

Around 60 players took part in the tournament organised by Tawau District Tennis Associatio­n and Tawau Junior Tennis Club (KTRT).
