Hunt for affordable properties at Karnival Rumah Malaysia

-

KOTA KINABALU: Despite the uncertainty in the property sector, the market outlook for Malaysia appears to be promising as the market corrects itself amid a complex scenario of growing oversupply in certain segments and a prevailing lack of consumer affordability.

Property Hunter, the leading property portal in Sabah and Sarawak will be organizing its first Karnival Rumah Malaysia (KRM) on July 7 and 8 in Suria Sabah Shopping Mall.

The event is aimed at first home buyers, small and growing families, middle to low income groups, and investors looking for an affordable range of properties.

Despite the current subdued market, KRM is designed to create public awareness on the latest affordable properties in the local market.

According to the director of Maxx Media, Elson Kho, although the property market condition is still generally weak due to various sentiments affecting the business since last year, people are advised to take advantage as property is always a secure investment in the long run.

“Property is always a good option in any investment portfolio. With property, there are multiple ways to generate the return. It allows you to be creative,” said Kho.

Asked on why people should invest in property during this slowing economy, he said that the current market trend is one of the phases on the economy that will eventually recover itself in the future.

“It is part of the cycle. The market will go up again in the future, so as long as you can still afford it now, you should just go for it. By the time the market recovers, all of the benefits will be in your favour. The price of property can go up faster than you realize,” he explained.

Kho also revealed that Titijaya Land (The Shore), SBC Corporation (Jesselton Quay), Bright Eclipse Sdn Bhd (The Aru), Hatten Properties (Harbour City) and Landmark Property (Puncak Gloxinia) are amongst the developers that will be at KRM, showcasing projects from as low as RM200,000 onwards.

“Take the opportunity to attend the event, whether you are looking for your first home or for future investment,” he added.

The team has collaborated with Grab to give visitors two free rides, worth RM5 each on July 7 and 8. Visitors and exhibitors are encouraged to utilize this promotion by applying the code “KRMKK”. The code is only valid for rides starting or ending at Suria Sabah Shopping Mall during the event days.

Highlights of the event include a Spin and Win, Treasure Hunt, unlimited fun on the Bouncy Castle and Kids’ Colouring Sessions.

Admission to the event is free. However, visitors are encouraged to pre-register their interest at the Property Hunter website to avoid the long registration queues.
