NEW YORK: Director Dante Lam was presented a special award during the New York Asian Film Festival.
The Daniel A Craft Award was presented in recognition of his talent and achievements, including helming blockbusters such as Operation Red Sea, The Beast Stalker and Unbeatable.
The latter two movies are being screened during the festival.

pause.”
It also happened to be his birthday.
For his trip to New York, Dante had a very tight schedule.
Added Dante: “I didn’t have time to stay and sightsee. Earlier I went to Los Angeles and had several meetings with foreign companies to discuss any possibility of working together. We even discussed which latest technologies to use. At the same time I also saw some not yet released new films, to see if I could make some sequels.”
In previous interviews, Dante had also spoken of the need for more collaborations with Hollywood.
Said Dante: “Actually we talked about some famous film series and whether we could take them off. We still need to continue to explore that. However I have to stress, completely jumping into the US production format is not too suitable.”
Dante explained that he is more in favour of giving Asian actors starring roles, instead of minor ones.
His next project is also an action movie.
The untitled movie is to be produced by Hong Kong’s Emperor Motion Picture, and will likely be produced in collaboration with CCTV, with the backing of China’s Ministry of Transport.
