KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Legends, a squad comprising former state players, defeated Sabah Cops FC 2-0 to win the Charity Cup match in the Sabah Open Football League Tournament at the Sabah Prison Department in Kepayan yesterday.

Zainizam Marjan and Sumardi Hajalan scored the goals.

The match was a curtain raiser to the league competition organised by Marven Sports and Andrew Lian Awa, alongside several colleagues and non-governmental organisations.

Sabah Legends, however, will not be taking part in the league competition, said Andrew, who is the organising chairman.

“They were only given the honours to play the charity cup match,” he disclosed.
