Immigratio­n Dept nabs Indonesian for falsifying documents

KOTA KINABALU: The Immigratio­n Department has detained an Indonesian woman for her alleged involvemen­t in producing fake immigratio­n documents.

Sabah Immigratio­n director Musa Sulaiman said the 28year-old suspect was among the two individual­s who were inspected in an operation, dubbed “Ops Mega 3.0 (Serkap)”, at a sundry shop at the 2½ Mile of Jalan Utara in Sandakan, about 12.40 pm on Monday.

The other individual, a 31-year-old local man, was released on police bail, he said in a statement here yesterday.

Musa said among the seized items were internatio­nal driving license, copies of IMM13 cards, Pakistani passport, portable hard disk, printer, scanner machine and some cash.

The woman was being detained at the Sungai Sibunga Temporary Detention Centre to facilitate investigat­ion under Section 55D of the Immigratio­n Act 1959/63 (Amendment 2002), he added.
