Immigration Dept nabs Indonesian for falsifying documents
KOTA KINABALU: The Immigration Department has detained an Indonesian woman for her alleged involvement in producing fake immigration documents.
Sabah Immigration director Musa Sulaiman said the 28year-old suspect was among the two individuals who were inspected in an operation, dubbed “Ops Mega 3.0 (Serkap)”, at a sundry shop at the 2½ Mile of Jalan Utara in Sandakan, about 12.40 pm on Monday.
The other individual, a 31-year-old local man, was released on police bail, he said in a statement here yesterday.
Musa said among the seized items were international driving license, copies of IMM13 cards, Pakistani passport, portable hard disk, printer, scanner machine and some cash.
The woman was being detained at the Sungai Sibunga Temporary Detention Centre to facilitate investigation under Section 55D of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Amendment 2002), he added.
