SHAH ALAM: An administrative assistant was believed to have been stabbed and strangled to death by her male colleague at a vocational college in Telok Datok, Banting near here, yesterday.

Kuala Langat district police chief Supt Azizan Tukiman said in the 2.30 pm incident, the body of Zaimah Mahmod, 57, was found in the storeroom of the college’s administration office by a team of police.

Prior to the discovery, police had received a phone call from the 28year-old suspect who admitted that he had just strangled and stabbed the victim to death using a knife, he said in a statement here.

According to Azizan, the suspect, who works as a laboratory assistant at the college, was found together with the victim’s body in the storeroom.

He said initial investigation revealed that the suspect had confessed to the murder as he was often being mocked by the victim.

“The victim is said to have frequently made remarks that the suspect had an affair with a staff at the same workplace. Despite being denied by the suspect, the victim kept mocking him,” said Azizan.

He also said the suspect had been undergoing stress management treatment at the Banting Hospital. - Bernama
