Fedex M’sia enhances operational strength with Boeing 767

KUALA LUMPUR: FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of the world’s largest express transportation company FedEx Corp, has upgraded its aircraft fleet with the introduction of the Boeing 767-300 Freighter (B767F) in Malaysia.

“This cargo freighter will strengthen delivery capabilities in and out of Malaysia, providing connections to 20 major cities in Asia, connecting Malaysia to the region’s major trading centres, and facilitate two-business-day shipping service to the United States and Europe,” said FedEx Express Malaysia in a statement yesterday.

Operating from Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang and Penang International Airport in Bayan Lepas, the B767F has 106,000 lbs of cargo lift, providing a 75 per cent increase in load and a 30 per cent increase in fuel efficiency compared to the formerly used Boeing B757200F.

FedEx Express Malaysia’s managing director, SC Chong, said the introduction of the B767F is part of the company’s long-term commitment to quality service through enhancing its capabilities.

“With the growth of our local industries, especially small and medium-sized enterprises in the Klang Valley, the operational efficiencies of the B767F will enable us to meet the increasing volume of imports and exports to and from Malaysia,” added Chong.
