No foul play suspected in death of orangutan
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Wildlife Department (SWD) suspects no foul play in the death of a semi-adult male orangutan found inside a nearby orchard adjacent to the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve on Wednesday (July 11).
The presence of the dead orangutan was reported to the department by staff from a nearby resort.
Staff from the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre went to the site concerned and found the dead orangutan on the ground without any sign of infliction or physical injury.
Preliminary investigation suggests no suspected foul play.
However, a full post-mortem will be held to determine its cause of death.
