Six drug suspects detained from around Papar
PAPAR: Police seized 5.12 grams of methamphetamine and detained six men in separate operations around Papar on July 11.
District police chief DSP Ladamah Sulaiman said the suspects were picked up during an operation, dubbed Ops Sarang, at Kampung Kabang in Papar and at Taman Limauan and Kg Suangon in Kinarut.
All the suspects were taken to the Papar police headquarters for investigation and their preliminary urine tests were positive for drug abuse.
The suspects, in their 20s and 50s, were remanded to be investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Ladamah said such operation would be carried out again to combat drugs and criminal activities in and around the district of Papar.
He thanked the public for their continuous cooperation with the police and looked forward for further cooperation in the future.
