King attends meeting of Conference of Rulers
KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V, attended the two-day 249th meeting of the Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara on the second day yesterday.
His Majesty was accompanied by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The meeting was chaired by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah.
The Malay Rulers of all the states, except Pahang and Kelantan, attended the meeting.
Pahang was represented by the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, and Kelantan by the Regent of Kelantan, Dr Tengku Muhammad Fa-iz Petra.
On the second day yesterday, the meeting began at 10.40 am.
The Malay Rulers were accompanied by the respective menteris besar while the Yang Dipertuas Negeri of Penang, Sabah and Melaka were accompanied by the respective chief ministers.
Sarawak Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud was accompanied by Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan. - Bernama
