KOTA KINABALU: Pansar Bhd (Pansar) has been appointed as the official dealership for heavy machinery manufacturer JC Bamford Excavators Ltd (JCB) in East Malaysia.

Through its subsidiary, Pansar Heavy Equipment Sdn Bhd (Pansar Heavy Equipment), the group will operate from nine centres across the two states of Sabah, Sarawak and the Labuan Federal Territory.

From this extensive network, Pansar will provide their customers in the plantation, construction, infrastructure and mining industries with access to a broad choice of heavy machineries within the JCB family, as well as delivering maintenance services and comprehensive spare part availability to local businesses.

Standout models that will be available from the JCB range are the 3DX Backhoe Loaders which are affectionately called ‘Scorpions’ locally due their mobility and ability to both shovel/load and excavate, classic tracked excavators and one of the newest additions to JCB’s local range – the 541-70 telehandler that can lift maximum loads of 4,100 kg up 7.0 metres all while being fuel efficient.

The entire range will be provided with a LiveLink GPS software service that enables JCB owners to monitor and manage their machines remotely to help maximise machine performance and productivity.

Besides that, Pansar Heavy Equipment director David Tai promises that the Pansar group will also be aiming to provide the same world class after sales service that JCB customers have come to expect throughout East Malaysia.

With several teams of specialist technicians ready to visit customers’ sites and spare part warehouses located locally, Pansar will aim to make its customers’ lives easier with quick turnarounds in the event of a machine needing spare parts, servicing or technical support.

These spare-part provisions will be further strengthened by access to spares from JCB’s central regional facility located within the Changi International Airport in Singapore, contributing to the peace of mind for businesses by enhancing the durability, high productivity and ease of maintenance that JCB machines can deliver.

“We have the right products for this growing market and share the same philosophy for making sure that our customers are taken care of. This partnership provides evidence that we are both here to stay.

“From this position of stability we can concentrate together on selling more of JCB’s multipurpose machines, which are undoubtedly the right equipment to improve productivity and deliver long-term cost savings,” said Tai.

Adding to that, Datuk Jason Tai the managing director of Pansar said, “JCB is a globally renowned, multi-product brand which has excellent existing brand recognition in our market. JCB machines have a proven local track record in difficult working conditions and have a very strong reputation for hard work and reliability.

“There is also a tremendous synergy of values. Trust, responsibility, passion, and innovation are values shared by both companies. We have built such trust with our customers in Malaysia for more than 50 years.

“JCB is an international familyowned company and an accessible, dynamic multinational partner which understands the challenges our customers face.”
